Then it’s all about cutting, planing, chopping, flaming, steaming, brushing and oiling. And the forklifts whizz from one corner of the factory premises to the next with a full load of boards. The first 25 notches in the Mareiner wood
When Mareiner Holz was founded in 1996, could we have dreamt that we would turn the time-honoured Mattner sawmill into the wood finishing company that we are today? To be honest: a little bit. Otherwise we might not have embarked on the Mareiner adventure at all. We never lost sight of our dream. But we were careful not to turn it into an engineering masterplan. We preferred to give ourselves room for so-called coincidences. A quarter of a century later, we can only say: it’s a good thing we did it that way.
