The construction of the exquisite Lech Lodge holds a special place in our history. In several extensive discussions with the developers and investors, Klaus and Johanna Moosbrugger-Lettner, CP Architektur, and the general construction company J\u00e4ger Bau, we provide insights on selecting the right types of wood and contribute to discussions about the design and functionality of the wooden elements and surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is a substantial order for Mareiner, presenting our production with a challenge that we embrace with enthusiasm\u2014developing numerous detailed solutions. For the exterior areas of the chalets, Gran Paradiso and Vesuv are used, while the interiors feature Mont Blanc, chosen by the project team. In the saunas, thermally treated wood is used, for which we have commissioned a formaldehyde certification to officially confirm the pollutant-free quality of our boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Unforgettable Night Shift<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As construction was already in full swing and the carpentry firm Feuerstein, acting as a subcontractor, had completed its structural work on the Arlberg site, we received an urgent call from Tischlerei Strasser while attending the arch@work trade fair in Vienna. Responsible for the interior design of the lodges, they alerted us that their wood supply was running dangerously low. Without a resupply the very next day, eight skilled workers would be left twiddling their thumbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We weren\u2019t about to let that happen. Within minutes, we shifted our production into high gear. In a record-breaking effort, we worked late into the night. At 1 a.m., we finally loaded the replenishment for Lech onto the Strasser trailer, which had by then arrived in the M\u00fcrztal. To this day, our forklift operator on duty still talks about that special nighttime mission\u2014one that ensured work on the lodge could continue without delay. When the lodges were completed, we wrapped up the project in true celebratory fashion: by inviting the carpentry team from Feuerstein to a well-earned feast, with all the trimmings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
