It doesn’t always have to be larch: In the case of the D. house in Frohnleiten, designer Marion Wicher and the client opted for a shingled facade but chose against the classic version. Instead of larch, the vibrant wooden structure is perfectly crafted from cedar wood. On the ground, it seamlessly and naturally transitions into the terrace made of Mareiner Kebony. This is also a perfect alternative, as Kebony performs in every respect just like tropical wood with an impeccable ecological balance. Speaking of ecological balance: While the facade remains unshingled, the solid wood structure is plastered with clay.<\/p>\n

The terrace, thanks to sun sails and large, overhanging door fronts, becomes a second living space during the long warm season. Aesthetically, materially, and ‘livably,’ the wood on the terrace is on par with the Simplon parquet and the elegant kitchen made from original Mareiner reclaimed wood in the form of Davos in the interiors. The indoor and outdoor spaces flow seamlessly together; both harmonize with the residents’ preference for casual barefoot living, thanks to the pleasantly smooth surfaces.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t
